Silent blocks is an old 50/60's terminology for the rubber suspension bushes, at a time when most moving suspension parts were metal on metal with a grease nipple to supply the bearing surface. If you didn't keep things greased up the parts would become dry and squeak and rattle. Enter the new age of rubber bushes, silent blocks.
Gosh how technology has moved on in half a century. I think it's here one would insert a smiley face.

MGB and Marina engine are very similar.
MGB and Marina Clutch, Gearbox and Rear axle are very, very different.

Bonjour et bienvenue ! le roadster MGB à moteur est très populaire et les pièces sont faciles à trouver. En France, vous pouvez avoir des problèmes de monter sur ebay UK afin parties peuvent avoir besoin d' être source ici adn livré plus . il ya plusieurs membres qui vivent en France et ils seront heureux de vous aider .
Si vous pouvez trouver le numéro de châssis ( par le bras de suspension près de la roue avant ), nous pourrons peut-être vous aider à identifier votre voiture plus précise et vous permettent de savoir quelles parties vous avez besoin pour votre restauration.
L'embrayage est probablement un Marina Morris , mais une photo de la boîte de vitesses et le moteur aiderait.

hello and welcome! the MGB engined roadster is very popular and parts are easy to find. In France you may have problems getting on to ebay UK so parts may need to be sourced here adn shipped over. there are several members who live in France and they will happily help you.
If you can find the chassis number (by the suspension arm close to the front wheel) we may be able to help you identify your car more precisely and let you know which parts you require for your restoration.
The clutch is most likely a Morris Marina but a photo of the gearbox and engine would help

Yes, but characteristics of your vehicule should not be too anachronic.

Don't try the trick with a BMW M30 engine fitted in a 90' hunter, the FFVE won't be fooled (they're specialist) and they won't give you the magic paper.

In fact, the donor car matters for establishing the age of kit cars like Marlin.

Thanks Christophe, that is really useful. As long as you have a V5 which is dated pre-1984 everything should be plain sailing then.
