Today's the day, Booked for MOT at 16:00hrs.

Have trailered the car to the test station.

On the way I called at a public weigh bridge and weighed the car. The MOT lads asked me to do that for the brake roller tests. It weighs 620 Kg without me sat in it. The back axle only, is 380 Kg with me sat in. By my quick calcs that makes the empty weight 50-50 front/rear which seems pretty good. I am particularly pleased about the overall weight, I had been bracing myself for something closer to 700 Kg.

The testers have agreed for me to take some pix of the car being tested so hopefully I will have a pic or two to post later.

I only just got back from the test at 18:30.

Thanks for all the luck, YES it passed!!!

The biggest problem was logging it onto the DVLA system. The tester hadn't tested a car with no Registration before. Together we sussed it! We actually registered it as part of the log in process. The V55 will only be confirmation of our data.

Funnily enough DVLA wrote to me yesterday to ask for an update on the progress. So I have something to tell them now! I took some pix, will have to go through them later when I get home.

Have to save up to register it now.

Thanks all, Unfortunately they wont have it. It has to be an age related number that is automatically allocated from the system and I don't think it can be changed. Wish I still had my old Mini, 6523 DK reg.
