Afternoon all, well my trial at Arc welding Aluminium never went well, I bought a few 2.5 mm rods to have a crack at, my "home" arc welder was useless due to no voltage control ( As I expected ) would not "strike up" at all on any setting, so I dug out an Oxford 150 arc welder, I once again tried these rods at every setting combination using 50 and 80 volt settings, I must say that at 80 volt and 70 -90 amp I almost had a run, but thats as far as I got, has anyone else used these rods ? they are reported to work well at 55 - 65 volt and 65 - 90 amp. After that I reverted to rubbing down the panels I sprayed yesterday. Then went out for a 200 mile N Wales tour in another Roadster, top down all the way ( MR2 )
