On Thursday , a warm sunny day I took my roadster for its MOT, a bimble and blast around the lanes with the dog in the passengers seat and the hood off. Dropped it off and dog and I had a nice six mile walk home through Delamere Forest.
It passed with no problems so today I went to pick it up. Grey overcast and raining by the time I got home. I hope that this isn't prophetic. Many years ago on the Friday before Whit and after a long spell of lovely weather I took my Locust to town to tax it at the Post Office , a warm sunny day until I came out and the sky was black and it rained on he way home. We then had the wettest summer for years.
Marlin has been taxed all this month so we have had a few short trial runs out. The gearshift extension works well but a stronger detent spring on reverse would reduce the occasional crunch on the 2nd to 3rd shift. I also need to make a boot for the gearbox end. Fingers crossed for the sun.
