Have a smokey 2.0 pinto engined Cabrio. Thought it might be contaminated fuel as it seemed to start after I filled up at local station. Drained tank and filled with new petrol (from different garage!)- but still smokey. Not sure if due to residue in bottom of petrol tank..?
Anyway, bought a compression tester and just did test. Readings are: 150/145/134/150. I dont know whether the two middle readings are low enough to indicate ring or valve seat wear, or whether these are acceptable tolerances..?
