  • Fuel Catalysts

Hi - has anyone any experience, advice, opinions on fuel catalysts please?

I notice that my 1.8TC B series engine runs much better, particularly at low revs, when I use 'premium' fuel and I am considering fitting a Fuel Cat in the hope that I can use supermarket fuel rather than searching for BP Ultimate etc and then paying extra. Thanks.

Cant see how they work but Im not a chemist. There is also a product called MPG Caps but have a look at www.vegetableoildiesel.co.uk?forum?viewthread..... ... no one seems to be able to agree if they work either.
Tesco do a premium fuel thats 99 oct try that. But you cant beat good old leaded 4 star but at 135p a litre ouch!
Ben Caswell probably not the last word on anything here!!

I've just changed engines to a zetec, so no problem now. However, I fitted a Fuel cat when using the marina engine, and ran it for about 3 or 4 years using bog standard unleaded, with no problem.
