  • 32/36 weber carb

    Hi All
I have fitted the above carb onto my standard 1600 crossflow engine. Does anyone know what the ignition timing should be with this carb also the plug gap. I have refurbished the carb. however ths engine will not rev above 3000 revs and misfires. no probs before fitting the weber
    cheers all

you shouldn't have to alter the timing. What did the carb come from and is it jetted for a crossflow? Webers like to be clean internally to function properly, I've found that the smallest bit of sh-- can play havoc. If you're removing the jets/emulsion tubes etc blow thro with high press air.
I have some'ball park' figures as to the jet sizes but they are just that, the best way to set up is a rolling road.

      Hi Alan
the carb came with a manifold from a 1600 crossflow ex cortina / escort mk1. I will set the timing up again and if no better will strip the carb.I have changed the gaskets, acc pump diaphram, the power diaphram but have not changed any of the jets
      hope all is well
