  • Electronic Ignition

    Hi folks
I have just bought a 2ltr Pinto to go in my Roadster,Which came with a Motorcraft electronic Dizzy and control box plus "Spagetti"
Does anyone use or have knowledge of such a system whom I may glean some info of or maybe a copy of a wiring diagram?
    Regards

          Re: Electronic Ignition

Hi Bryan, a word of caution, if your kit has a ford 'ESC 4'ECU (alloy box about 5inch by 7inch and 1 inch thick) they had a mapping problem, which can lead to cutting out at sustained high speeds. (i had 1 on a sierra for 6 months, sold the car quick) all others seem to be ok best of luck Merv

            Hi Merv
Yep thats the one!! I thought it was an after market item!
As the motor I bought also came with a points Dizzy I think I will stick with that.
            Many thanks for the info

              Re: Electronic Ignition

Hallo again bryan, a possible improvement that i have used is to fit Maplin ignition amp saves points wear, and improves spark, Kit is about ?15 from maplin shops but my 2L pinto seems to be fine on the old mechnical dizzy. all the best Merv
