Duratec Power

From previous posts it would seem that the Ford Duratec is a viable option for the Roadster without being in the way of the steering column.

Does anyone know which what year/cars started using the 2.0 Duratec (with inlet on the nearside) as opposed to the Zetec on the offside?

I've had a search and it seems that in latter years Ford rebadged the Zetec as Duratec and this would obviously not be suitable. I'd be grateful if anyone can shed some light on this - ta.

Ford / Mazda developed an engine with Yamaha which was badged the Zetec SE. This has the correct inlet and exhaust configuration. It initially only came in 1.6cc and could be found in the Puma and Focus. This engine had some problems and was modified and therefore rebadged as a Duratec HE. This was then used in other Fords such as the mondeo and comes in 2000cc. Westfield have been using these engines for some time now. Check out their website. Burton power do all the parts as do Rally Design (in conjunction with GTS Tuning). Would be quite an expensive option though. Would need to look at a way of keeping the fuelling system cheap. The bellhousing is ?235 to convert to RWD.
