For anyone with an overdrive which does not have the inhibitor switched mounted on the gearbox. Overdrives and reverse gear do not get on well. This elegant solution was suggested to me by Will Turner.
Piggyback a Normally Closed relay onto the reversing light switch. Output from pin 87a is the feed to pin 30 of a Normally Open relay which is energised by an overdrive switch. The pier to the overdrive relay and thus the solenoid is switched off when the reversing light comes on
Neat and it works a treat.
