  • Rear light stainless surrounds

I am looking for some stainless rear light surrounds that finish off the rather bland Rubbolite lights on the Marlin Roadster. If anyone has any, or can let me have photos or a pattern, that would be really helpful. 07781 103456

If you are feeling rich you can replace the Rubbolite ones with Volvo P1800 units. Warning... not for the faint of wallet.
The rear lights are now complementing our Classic range of products for the Volvo P1800. They correspond to the original rear lights’ quality and together with the attractive BASTUCK price they represent a convincing combination and meet the expectations which owners of a Volvo P1800 have for their spare parts when …

Thanks Jon, I would if it didn't mean widening fibreglass light mounts. The P1800's are quite a bit wider.

I made my own from light stainless steel. The first attempt was a two piece affair, a backing plate welded to the outer curved part, but it was difficult to weld with it being so thin and impossible to polish out the signs of welding. So the second attempt was a single piece consisting of what resembled a chunky T shape, the top of the T was folded down at ninety degrees then curved, I had tabs on the back plate which when folded met the ends of the curved part, which were then stuck with sikaflex rather than welded. It was all done using CAD, cardboard aided design. It was then polished using a kit available from Halfords or ebay which took longer than making it.

I bought these lights from the Stoneleigh show a couple of years ago. They fit nicely. Zoom in on the picture. No need for a stainless surround and the are so much brighter than the original ones.

They look so much nicer, thanks for the pic. Don't suppose you know the make?

Not sure of the make, but pretty sure CBS, car builders solutions sell them. Or look on eBay.

                    That's them!
I think I must be getting out of touch with prices though. Perhaps they are gold plated....

                    Cheers, Robin

They're not actually the same ones as mine, if you look closely.
Just looked on eBay and here's 3 of them for £20!

Those look a lot better on the outside - but the Rubbolite ones are really well made inside - much much better than Lucas

Looking good. Don’t forget you will now need to add some separate reflectors! Your original rear lights will have had them built in to the plastic.
