Working on a Roadster standing idle for 21 years. 1700 Ital based. Suffered through inactivity but hoping the engine has survived the inactivity. Spares hard to find. Watch this space!

Got the O series running. I have set the ignition timing to the manufacturer's 14 degrees BTDC but she tends to misfire,occasionally backfire and carb adjustment doesn't help. All other settings/adjustments i believe are as they should be. Should i alter the timing?
