  • Chassis stiffness

    Hi
Does anybody have the calculated or measured stiffness for a Mk2 Marlin Roadster Chassis?
    Please!

    Hi Duncan
I don't think that there are any details in existence of the chassis stiffness. It probably wasn't calculated when the car was designed but was thought to be sufficient based on Paul's experience of using the same box section on previous cars.
My suggestion would be to see if an structural engineer could calculate what you need based on the dimensions of the chassis rail box section.
I am glad that we don't have these issues in the UK.
There are videos on U tube showing Roadsters in action on trials which show that the chassis can take a lot of punishment.
I hope that you can solve this problem.

wow that's a proper technical question , sorry I can't help but having stripped and rebuilt a chassis I can honestly think they are in the nicest way "Over Engineered" for what is required. I have seen diggers and tractors with less....
