    Catalytic Converters

I know practically nothing about these items, but the Hunter has one which tends to ground on speed humps unless I'm very careful. In another post it was suggested that it could (maybe) be moved into the under bonnet area. Its currently under the near side footwell, and seems a bit big to be refitted out of the way inside the engine compartment. Do Cats come in varying sizes, or is the size very much dictated bu engine capacity?

They come in different pipe sizes. There are ones design for use with engine that didnt come with cats from the factory or replacement 'highflow' sport cats. They need to be close enough to the engine to get hot quickly so they start working as quick a possible. I don't know more than the basics, Jetex have a decent selection of options and some good background info here :
