  • Help with Roof for sportster (and rear toe adjustment)

Good afternoon everyone. After 3 years or so of Sportster ownership i am planning to have a hood made next year. I do not have the hood or the frame. I have a local chap to make the hood for me, once i have fabricated the frame. There seem to be few photos available on the internet to copy the design or at least inform the process. I am happy with the frame; i need as many pics of the side screens, mountings for the side screens and pics of the roof proper. Please can you send me whatever photos you have or indeed pop into the garage and take a few for me. I am not sure of the best forum for these, be it here, or direct to me, Facebook or Whats App. Here would of course be best for others in the same position. Thank you for your help. My car is currently with John Clarkson garage near Wigan having the carbs tuned and tracking adjusted. As a bye the way, can anyone suggest a way to adjust rear Toe for a sierra based system. I have a total of 9mm toe in and shims around the hub present problems with bolts sitting true. He is trying to figure out a suitable solution but if already addressed, i'd like to know. Thanks again and a Merry Christmas to you all.

    cheers.

    Jim

That one looks pretty good, I'll be 20 years in next year and I've still not looked at adding a roof. The way the weather is would be a pretty good idea. I had looked at morgan and mg roofs for inspiration years ago.

I believe this was some earlier "thinking"

Steve Pritchard, who frequents this forum and the Facebook page, had one made for his (my old) Sportster a few years ago. Would be worth finding out who made it.
