  • Marlin Cabrio/Hunter Gearbox

    Hello Marliners,

hope someone could help me here or give me a hint.
I am driving a Cabrio with 3,9L V8 and 5 speed gearbox. Last summer after a nice drive the gearbox blocked , with a not so nice sliding across the street.
With luck nobody is harmed and the Cabrio was towed to my yard. The gearbox made some problems before, 2nd gear was hard to select.
Now i'm looking for a spare part gearbox. : ident number : -CL- 1370636 last digit could be also " C " not so visible.

My problem is that i'm located in Germany and these parts are not easy to find, just struggelng to find wich type of gearbox it is. Found on the internet some that called "LT77" or "R385" ?
Maybe someone could give me a hint that would help to make my search more detailed.

    thx a lot
    Pierre

I have a Hunter fitted with a 3.9i engine (fuel injected). It has the R380 gearbox. Both were fitted new by Marlin at POB. That engine and gearbox were originally fitted to the Land Rover Disco 1. I have the original spec leaflet so will look it out later and photograph it for you. Peter.

Note! This gearbox has an internal oil pump driven off the layshaft when the engine is running. In the event of a breakdown the car must not be towed unless the propshaft is disconnected. Maybe relevant for your gearbox failure?

Reverse position on LT77 is selected over towards passenger side and forward R380 is across to driver and back.
