  • Roadster battery

Hi everyone, I have recently joined the group and have just bought a roadster, marina based. After trawling the Internet and looking on car spares sights even with the registration number I cannot seem to find what size battery I need, if anyone could help with this I would be extremely grateful it's the marina 1800tc engine and there was no battery with the car.

It's more a question of what do you have space for? The battery decision was very much left up to the individual builder.
The best bet is to measure up, make sure you know which way round the +ve and -ve terminals are oriented and then go on to one of the battery websites (I use Tanya) and pick yer battery.
The B series engine doesn't require anything special, so just go for a good make and the best CCA (cold cranking amps) you can reasonably afford.

+1 for Tanya. They have a useful tool on their site where you put in the measurements required and which way round you need the terminals and they'll show what's available. Excellent service too!

I also bought a Yuasa battery from Tanya for 2 litre DOHC Cabrio and was very pleased with the service. It only measures about 8" x 7" x 7" high and has a specified cranking current of 520A. Before now I've allowed the battery voltage drop to about 12.4V and its still started the car.
