  • Getting fitted for new arches

It's been a dispiriting journey these last few months hunting for a stable idle (most of the time any idle) but after some 11th hour nonsense with HT leads; I got the CabrioST fired up and sufficiently alive to drive out of the garage and onto a trailer for rear arch fitting.
due to the ridiculous wheel width (vanity purchase) the arches needed widening, plus I wanted recessed light clusters.
Whilst they get moulded, I can play with throttle body balancing and idle control.

For a fist drive i noticed a couple of issues...those aforementioned wheels make low speed manoeuvres a test of endurance...I can sort this with power steering but not sure on route to take: zetec epas pump to sierra rack, or corsa c electric (but my underslung pedal box may nix this).

Second: the 11" steering wheel is rubbing on my legs, and not is a good way; I'm physically wedged to it. After fine tuning the seating position for my 6' 2" frame, I may need to adjust the height it's set at. 20250415_121659.jpg
