  • Classic Wheels

I took Gwynevere on a hundred mile round trip to join nine other members on our stand at Oakham for the Classic Wheels car show. The field was full of interesting vehicles and although cold in the morning the sun did make an appearance later. There was a flying display by the Lancaster which was very impressive.
It was good to meet everyone. Thanks to Alan for organising the stand.

I drove up to the Classic Wheels gathering on Saturday afternoon, 150 miles in sunshine with the roof down, stayed over in Peterborough and arrived at the showground before the traffic jam which developed. It was cold in the morning, but the sun came out later and the show became busy busy. As MOC chair has commented, there were 9 Marlins with only the 5EXI model not represented and excellent company all day. The mass homeward exodus began soon after 3pm and I was blessed to be driving off in a different direction from almost everyone else, heading South towards Lutterworth and then the Fosse Way. I got home about 7.20pm, no problems at all with sunshine all the way...with, for once, most of the traffic heading in the opposite direction.
