  • Dashboard removal

While this site was down I asked on FB about removing the dashboard later in the year so that I can refurbish the burred walnut.
It's not too hard to figure wiring connections, speedo cable etc, but it there a trick to actually getting the dashboard out?
I can see the bolts, but my issue seems to be how the top tucks up beneath the cowl and how the steering column prevents it being tipped to pull out.
    Help, in advance please!

When I fitted a new dashboard I had to fiddle with the steering column hole so I had enough clearance to tip the dashboard back and get it over the column (- steering wheel of course)

No easy solution as it's all down to the original builder or if it's been replaced. The steering column MAY have been fitted after the dash - who knows? Trial and error and perseverance is the key
