There have been several posts recently about a hardtop for the Hunter / Cabrio. I have always thought that the few that were produced were a far cry from the gorgeous rounded and flowing lines of the Berlinetta hardtop, the Hunter ones being rather angular and “boxy” in appearance, with a rather ugly thick Cant rail profile over the windscreen.

The attached photo of a 1931 Invicta Coupe (with thanks to the British Classic Car Club fb page) is far closer to my idea of what would have been a better shape for the Hunter. It could even be more rounded and lower still, behind the driver’s head, than the Invicta, as the Hunter is only a 2 seater so “rear passengers” headroom is irrelevant.
As a purely personal opinion I wonder about the notion of having a “wind in your hair” open sports car and then wanting to turn it into a fixed head coupe, but that is a matter of personal choice. Peter.
