The idea of helper springs on the clutch pedal most be a German thing. Mercedes trucks use the same arrangement with very strong springs. When bleeding the clutch, the pedal had to be lifted manually!

I looked into the heavy clutch pedal for my Hunter a while ago. The later Land Rover clutch pedal also has an over-centre spring to help reduce effort, but trying to adapt the Marlin pedal box to use one of those created considerable problems. Various forums that I checked reported that the use of a servo for the clutch causes two problems. One is less “feel” under your foot and the other is the tendency for the biting point to vary, neither of which appealed to me. In the event, following a total left knee replacement, the problem went away!
