What grade oil did you use to refill box?

Oh I have the art of double clutching, owned many cars without syncomesh. Just doesnt seem to work well on the old girl.

I will drain and refil it and find out where it's leaking when up on a ramp tomorrow.

I have the same gearbox. With regards to the leaks I tightened all the bolts on top of the box , just under the tunnel iirc they were 1/2" . I also tightened all trhe bolts around the tail housing .
I used white plumbers ptfe tape on the filler plug .
I then used the following product which did help with both the gearchange and also almost completely stopped the leaks.

The gearchange is now spot on.

There is a slight leak from the tapered drain plug as I haven't used PTFE plumbers tape on that yet
