    Re: Woe is me !!

    Hi Neil.

    That seems a good result.

If you prefer the look of the original louvred bonnet sides, I'd have thought it would be VERY likely you could either find a replacement, or else have a new one made up for not much dosh - perhaps it's worth keeping your decision on this to a later stage and see what turns up? (Even my tiny, local metal-works has a couple of sets of louvre-presses sitting on the shelf, tho' unfortunately not the right size for you. But if THEY have them there's bound to be lots of others!)

Good luck with it - keep us posted of progress! Your car looks superb above (er, in YOUR photo...)

Well done Neil. You have been very busy. Sorry you missed Stoneleigh but it sounds like you will be back on the road before I get back from Scotland.

          Thanks Liz,

at least it looks like a Marlin again - even though I've not mounted the headlights & sorted the grill yet (got a few ideas for that grill as well).

              Hiya Neil.
Sorry to see what happened to your car. Noticed that you have 'sportster' arches, like it, i took the long arches of mine to paint them and thought "that looks cool, wonder if anyone has done it to a roadster". is it something you did or a special hybrid thing?
do you have any more photots?

                Re: Woe is me !!

                Colin,

                Yes it's something I did.

It came about because I managed "modify" the nearside wing in a ditch - although the outer part of the wing was ok, the inner was scrunched. So while I had it removed, I just wondered what it would look like with Cycle wings and made up some brackets and fitted a couple of cheap wings.

Decided I actually preffered the look and kept it.

PS. nearly there now, should be on the road again for this weekend, just working on the Stainless Steel Grill and waiting for paint to harden before cutting/polishing back.

                  Re: Woe is me !!

Well, it's finally back on the road (by the bank holiday 28th).

Still a few items to sort out though, wheel, stainless louvres and an oil leak, already sorted fuel leak (split pipe) and stretched throttle cable. No doubt there will be a few other minor problems to sort out.

And of course, now I have resprayed half the car, it shows up the rest - so I'll end spraying the rest as well at some point.

how come you have opted out of more louvered vents? you only got them on one side now?
looking good though, need to go and do some bits to mine!
