rear springs etc

Hi folks
Anyone know where I can source the rubber pads that go round the rear springs and between the lowering blocks?
Should there be two or three pieces?
One side of mine just has the two which cover both sides of the leaf spring and one side has a double layer between top of spring and the lowering block!

Hi Bryan, superflex (www.superflex.com) have all the bushes, and spring seats etc in PU, i think that the spring seat is about ?8 and you should have 4 (two each side) all the best Merv

Thanks for the info
Somebody in the past has stacked two on the top of one spring under the lowering block so I suspect there may be a problem somewhere!
I am thinking of putting in two new springs so at least I start from scratch.
Also if anyone can shed some light,the rear axle does not appear to be dead square,ie the diff flange seems to be pointing slightly to the right as it faces the gearbox.
anyone got a contact for new leaf springs?

The propshaft flange is offset of centre of the axle case-this is normal

I appreciate the offset but what I meant is that the whole thing is not pointing directly down the tunnel but pointing to the right towards drivers footwell!!
ie Axle not square with chassis
Hope this makes sense.
I can only assume this has something to do with the leaf springs as all else looks to be o/k

Ah! I had assumed something different.In that case-have you removed the springs from chassis? If you do so/or have already done you should notice that there is a short end and a long end ie the distance from the bush to the point at which the axle mounting plate sits on the spring are different.Has the spring been fitted the wrong way round on one side[if thats possible] This would certainly account for the axle to be 'out of square' Might be worth checking !

You will also get this effect if the the top leaf has broken in the middle and started to lengthen which would also be a reason to suspect if it is down on the side that is further back.

Could be its got odd springs, These springs do snap. I had a funny noise going over a speed ramp but couldnt find any thing. Then some 500 miles later I reversed up at Donnington and crash! the spring came apart right in the middle of the main leaf.

I have checked springs and they are not broken as far as I can see.(thought I may swap side for side to see what happens then)
Alan if you turn one around there is about a 4" difference at the axle mounting points(now that would really make the axle "out of square"!)
Worth checking though.
Rossendale Road Springs will make me a pair for ?150 plus vat,Not managed to get hold of Brost Forge yet.
I have ordered polybushes from superflex thanks Merv!

Broken rear spring is the reason my Marlin is undergoing a complete rebuild - kinda snowballed !! Now that the old springs are off, Does anyone know where I can get spring bushes?
This may sound daft but which way round does the alloy wedge go. It'll be obvious when I put it back together, or I could dig out the original instructions - quickest method is just to ask !!
