Just back from Stoneleigh. I was expecting a grim trip back but after a short stop to drain some oil off (yes - more in the mag...) I followed Bob Cawte's Berli and newly acquired trailer hotel, keeping a steady 65/70 mph as my temp gauge was showing too hot on the way up and back (more in the mag...) and I was home in 3 hours.
Had a great time as usual and my newly acquired sleek flat pack BBQ went down very well. the couple of singe marks on the grass prove that. I am now the proud owner of my very own trolley jack at last. That bloomin' scissor thing is crap but it's OK in emergencies. I also have a very fetching pair of wellie booties that have become a trend, a digital tyre pressure gauge and various other sundries, all of which were must-have bargains.
The rain held off in time for us to de-camp, despite going to sleep last night with the sound of the rain and waking up to it again this morning.
It was great to see and speak to everyone, the AGM ran and finished in record time, well done Patrick and we said farewell to Keith Dodd and welcome to Alan Hogg as Keith's replacement on the committee and as the Marina Tech rep. Many thanks too to Alison Hogg who has very kindly agreed to become the committee meeting minute secretary! It feels like a very successful weekend and I hope everyone enjoyed the show as much as I did.
More in the next mag. I shall now go and have a much awaited shower and nurse my poor old back that decided to flip yesterday whilst crawling out of the tent! (Thanks for the massage TG).....
PS. If you have any decent photos, please send them to me by 18th may if possible :-)
