A friend of mine has a Spitfire with a wobbly rear wheel, thinking it was the rim we removed it only to find that the entire hub was moving on each revolution. We suspect it to be a drive shaft problem but are a bit stumped! Has anyone come across this problem before or got any wise words of advice??!!

    Re: Wobbly Rear Wheel

OH yes You have already identified the problem. Its got a bent shaft and will need replacing ..Make sure you get the correct shaft as two different lengths a available depending on the rear spring. Best bet is to measure the other one then you can match it. Get a copy of Triumph World for suppliers of new and used parts.you will need to strip the old shaft aswell as replacing the bearing that runs direct onto the shaft.
Ben Caswell probably not the last word on anything here!!
