  • Brake pipes and connections

As the rebuild slowly continues I am thinking about replacing brake pipes and connectors. Am I right in thinking that the connectors are 3/8 UNF rather than metric? I am trying to decide on the economics of buying a pipe flaring kit or just getting the local garage to knock them up.

could be either A/F or metric if the componenents are.. from a late car. One thing to watch for is any damage inside the female union where the old pipe seated which may compromise a good seal.

Thanks Ben I'll keep a look out for that. As ever there is always another problem. After Tim McDonald telling me to make sure I didn't lose the clips that hold the rear wheel cylinder on - guess what - there aren't any on one side !! Anyone know where you can get these ?

I hope you didnt pay too much for them. I have a drawer full, well quite a few anyway.
