Just went to check note book about the ignitor. Discovered that a local cat had got in the sideway and had peeeeeeeed all over the dashboard and glove box. This is not the first time a cat has peed in the car. Why do they like to climb all over the Marlin any way. Any tips for de smelling the car?

The better-half says shampoo then Neutradol and Febreeze.
The last car we had that a cat peed in was treated and sold quickly before the smell returned !!! But that was all over the cloth seat after a trip to the vet. She also says nip down to the local care home and ask what they use! Yes, she's a nurse !!

I always believed that that the answer to smelly cars is to sell them, this after my mother spilt a bottle of milk in her car. However more recently I have been told that the answer is cat litter as it contains all sorts of smell absorbing stuff. However I guess the risk is that the cat may regard it as an invitation.

Try the "Pets at Home" chain of stores, they do a couple of product for this sort of thing. One kills the odour and the other prevents them from doing it again.

The one that kills the odour is called "Stain & Odour Remover" made by "Simple Solution".

I have used this myself in the house, in the last few weeks of my 18 year old Siamese's life. It works.

My solution, colostomy bag freshner if you can get hold of any. Try a chemist. It is mighty strong, like a concentrate of neytradol and wiped out a rather nasty vomit smell donated to me by a drunken colleague in the back of the Marlin some years ago. But that's another story.....

I agree with Trevor from Ayr's better half if you can't get the concentrate.

Gotta unpack now.

Thanks for all the advice, I had already wiped down with a bleach solution so went for the Neutroldol option.then left the top off. Bought new deodrant aswell,

Dodgy that ,leaving the top off,a Cat may get in and have a pee!!!
