I don't know if this'll apply to branches near you, but I've just had a circular from my local 'National' service centre (Barnstaple) with a list of pretty nifty offers, such as steering alignment for £11, BOGOF tyres, etc.
They sent me this because I had an oil/filter change on my tin-top done by them last year, and that only cost £25 (semi-synth). Ain't worth getting your hands dirty at that price...
