Can a Berli be fitted with a BMW318i Engine?

There was one on e bay recently fitted with 4 cylinder BMW 318. I think it was in Mansfield or thereabouts

But there are at least three BMW powered Cabrios with BMW gearbox and Sierra back ends that suit their owners. I would like to know how you get on if you decide to go that way.
