    type 9 gearbox

    Hi All
I have a problem with the syncro on 2nd gear this makes it impossible to select 2nd gear without double clutching with a little rev. Has anyone repaired a type 9 and is it practical or would it cheaper to find another second hand one

See Item 320165336678 on e bay or if you fancy rebuilding your's item 220132376886 [set of syncro rings for type9 box] Had a look in my manual and doesn't appear to be too bad a job to strip and rebuild though can't say that I've done one

Its not a bad job if you have done one before but it is a pig as you need a dummy layshaft rod to stop the needles dropping when you reassembel, if you can get a good second hand box for £50 - £70 I would chance getting another box then you would have some spares if required.

Kit Car magazine did a two part article on the type 9 rebuild last year.
