As usual, I am always behind the times.
I have just found out about the "European Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulations". These allow ,non-franchised, independent garages to gain information to work on any type of car. These regs will be renewed in 2010. It is very likely that the bureaucrats will be swayed by the manufacturers, on "safety" grounds, to repeal the regulations. This would mean that we will all have to take our vehicles to the highly expensive and over priced franchised dealers. Independent mechanics will be disallowed to work on any vehicle. This could mean US! If any of you have a moment please have a look at r2rc.co.uk. (I recently worked for a franchised dealer and left their employ due to their abysmal quality control, slapdash safety and poor attention to their customers).
Merry Christmas all!
