      Hiya

It's actually closer to 7.5. Feels like 3.5 at the moment, the way I'm getting through petrol!

Thanks for the information from you both. Sorry to hear about your thirst Sue. Maybe a couple of weeks on the wagaon might help.Anyways I was just trying to work out what fuel I should need to get me to Le Mans as my fuel guage doesn't work to well.

Is there any relationship between your Berli's thirst and your fondness for speed camera's or is it just down to getting the stiletto's stuck in the floor?

              Hi Adrian,

Does the Escort tank have a swirl pot or baffles. I didn't know of the problems of low fuel and fast left handers when I installed my plain tank and it is quite unnerving to have the engine start to splutter when you are least expecting it.

                Re: Fuel Tank

Hi Keith, My tank has baffles hence my question whether the MK3 would fit as I have been told they don't suffer from the effect you mentioned.

                  Hi Al

I think it's the stiletto's getting stuck. The cameras are my enemy at the moment so I have to keep my head down or I won't be on the road at all.

Oh, and the fact that "me rings 'ave gone" doesn't help with the fuel burning.......

                      Re: Fuel Tank

Due to porosity in my tank I've just made a new one with much larger capacity, about 11gal. and at the same time enabled the tucking up of my Ex. system to give better clearance. I've also managed to keep the toolbox that I origionally fitted on the N/S alongside the tank despite the larger capacity and although slightly taller,1", most of the extra capacity has come from making it square instead of the rounded shape of the origional and lowering the base and reshapeing it. The shape of the bottom also tends to keep the pickup pipe in fuel even when the petrol is down to less than half a gal. Some pics. attached to give you the idea.
