I've just read the latest Pitstop (excellent mag) and note Sue's encounter with a post in a car park. As an ex-franchisee I can recommend ChipsAway as a very economical repairer of small (and sometimes quite large) damage to bodywork (dents, scrapes scuffs), alloy wheels etc. They are very good at plastic bumpers,Sue. Repairs are far cheaper than a body shop and usually less than an excess and loss of No Claims Bonus.
On the other hand you could try getting a plastic bumper dent out using a heat gun (very hot hairdryer might do it). You might have to push it out a bit from the inside if you can reach it (mind your fingers - it gets hot). Don't overdo the heat - plastic bumpers melt.

    Hi Chris

Thanks. I had been toying with a bumper-toucher-up-er and will investigate this company. The damage is too deep to melt out so I do need it to be filled or prised out or whatever they need to do. I really need to do it as it looks shabby! Will update you all in the next PITSTOP! It's great to have my own national diary to keep you all up to date with my antics!

Update: Martin something from ChipsAway is arriving this Thursday to mend my dinked bumper. Cash, £110. Seems a bit much but I am informed this is the going rate. On the day I will try for £100 and call it quits..........Watch this space..

I will be giving the big eyed girl thing and suggesting the work is not as bad as he first thought....

.........well the work is done and it was a bit tricky so I paid the full amount as he's done a nice job and did polish out two other scratches for me so I'm happy. The car looks nice again. Or, as nice as a white diesel escort estate can look!
