  • Distributor woes, car been standing for years.

Finally found the time and inclination to get the roadster out of the garage after 5 years.
Did everything I could before attempting starting. New battery, drained and filled fuel tank, checked and cleaned Carb float chambers, changed oil and filter, checked cleaned ignition system. etc etc.

Tried to start but nothing. Fuel getting through but weak spark at plugs. Checked ignition, coil output, lovely spark, plug output weak spark.
Check the leads I here you say. No they were new.

Anyway looked inside distributer cap and there was signs of wear on the HT terminals. Turns out the rotor arm was loose on the distributor shaft and was clattering about inside. New cap and rotor arm and it started first time with a loud cheering noise.

Now for a good check over before attempting an MOT as front tie bar bushes are almost non existant.

Working...
