I have just received new bottom wishbones from Marlin, new poly bushes to go all round. However the mounting point for the spring/shock is in a different place and with the poly bushes located the wishbones will not fit in place. They appear to be 5mm out on each of the chassis mounts. Iam on an E36 build and wonder if I have been sent parts for the E30. Haven't been able to contact Marlin tech. line not on.Any ideas???

Re: Replacement bottom wishbones
Bottom wish bone is the same on the E30 & E36's as far as I am aware. They have changed the position of the shock mounting point. As a result my car sits slightly higher now.
With the old rubber bushes I just ground them down a bit to fit. Sounds like yours are further out that mine were. You may need to get them swapped or your mounting points on the chassis moved slightly.BMW E30 Sportster 2005 - M20B28 - Build Log and Updates http://www.msportster.co.uk/

Re: Replacement bottom wishbones
My new wisbones were a couple of mm out but fitted with a little bit of persaussion. Jason, a fellow builder, had to stretch his new wishbones out using his vice. Take a look at his website...

If they are too far out, i'd send them back for some the right size.

Re: Replacement bottom wishbones
Thanks for the advice had a look at Jason's website, and managed to get hold of Marlin this morning. Used the vice method and a bit of gentle persaussion!!!! and the first side is together. Just got to removed top bushes and replace with new poly ones. Have found Patrick's web site useful will let you know how I get on .
