    Tyres for Sportster

What tyres and wheel sizes are you running on your Sportster, and what do you think of the combination?

I'm currently running 205/60/R15's on 7J rims all round. They are Bridgestone RE720's. I've had next to no problems with grip and if your careful with the clutch it handles the power from the 2.8ltr M20 alright.

I'm looking for new tyres and the Yoko A048's seem interesting. However I've been warned they can be a little hard on the suspension components due to the high levels of grip! These is for 99% road usage with maybe the odd track day so I wouldn't be doing anything too silly.

Any other suggestions? (I've got a bit of an odd size that only family run abouts seem to use)

    Thanks, Patrick

    Re: Tyres for Sportster

I am running 205/60/15's on my 2.8 Ford powered Sportster. Am using Dunlop Sport 01 which are a good all round tyre and truly excellent in the wet as proven at Mallory earlier this year. With enthusiastic use the rears will only last about 6K though. MYTYRES.CO.UK is a good cost souce of these and most other brands.

    Cheers

I ended up getting Yokohama avs db in 205/60/R15 - they are really very quiet, no more tyre noise

      Thanks, Patrick
