Looking at running some new fuel pipe from the back to the front of my car - have people used copper or copper/nickel solid pipe or braided rubber hose ? Any one got an opinion if braided hose would be upto the job ?

Re: Fuel Pipe
Another question regarding the fuel tank area - my car seemed to have a piece of loose wood lining the boot - I would have thought a proper metal bulkhead to seal of the tank / fuel pump etc from the boot would be better - has anyone tried to build something like this ?

Re: Fuel Pipe
We found that a length of nylon fuel line as per modern cars is best with short rubber connections using sprung type fuel pipe clips at each end.
The problem with braided hose is that you cant see the condition its in under the braiding and it can start to weep without noticing it.
I think you would find it very difficult to build a fire wall as the tank normally comes out fron the top..

Re: Fuel Pipe
use nylon - its much cheaper and is good for all fuel systems - just be careful of the grade used if its for a high pressure fuel injection system. I have a few meters lying around if you want some.

Re: Fuel Pipe
Hi Cameron,
I'm thinking about doing the same, do you know which grade is the best to use.

Re: Fuel Pipe
I got mine form a local truck builder. He had to sell me 10m but it cost about £6 if I remember correctly.
