how old are my roadster

Can any body help and tell me the age of this short wheel base car i have bought. its never been finished or registered the chassie no is 1580-m. The chassie no on the one i am repairing is 201039 so i presume the one is a mk1 and the other a mk2? i am hopeing the windscreen are inter changable? I have sent of my membership form today hope to join your merry band. Roj

Hi Roger, Mk 2 cars use marina rear axle and had a prefix 2 on the chassis number up to 1000 then confusingly the 2 was dropped and went to 1001. the m being marina base so I assume your chassis 1580 was produced around mid 1991. If the other car is a Mk1 it will have a triumph rear diff drive shafts and transverse spring. The chassis number 201039 doesnt match. Chech N/S bulkhead for numbers ..
If possible post a picture of the carsto help identify.
