I Need a -70 to +70 ammeter for my Berlinetta which has a Ford Fiesta 70A alternator, to keep in line whith other gauges it needs to be a Smiths instrument. Does anyone have such an animal they want to sell?

Does anyone know where I can buy one?

Does anyone know what the likely ouytcome is if I fitted a -60 to 70A ammeter?

      Re: Ammeters

A 60/60 will be fine. Although your alt is rated at 70A the no. of times it will give that out you can count on one hand in its life, probably only if your batt. is flat and you jump start it and even then only for a few seconds. The meter will just read past the top mark for a bit. most of the time it will prob. only read to 20 or so A. Your biggest load is your lights and that is about 15A max without the engine running.(unless you've got air horns, they draw 20A when running)
