Does anyone know if this will be the same immersed pump and float system as on my 2.0 Sierra GLS DOHC ?

Re: Fuel pump on Sierra XR 2.933cc G reg 4x4 (G538 VRD)
Hi Keith,
I have catalogues of after market pumps.
Sytec show both vehicles use their pump N° ITP050
Intermotor show both vehicles using their N° 10003
I guess therefore that your XR 4x4 in tank pump may well work with the 2.0 DOHC Sierra lump.
Check with someone more professional before committing to buying a new pump though!

Hi Dane,
Thanks for that and I like your logic. All I have to do now is try and get a breakers yard to honour a Credit Note which is 13 years old!! I guess that is testament to my good fortune in that I have not needed any parts in all that time. My son used some of it to purchase an engine for his mini that he had blown up by not checking his dipstick (which amongst other things is what I called him!)

I'm Back!
To confirm the sensor is the L-jetronic sensor 2 mounted in the inlet manifold of the SOHC EFi Sierra Pinto.
The Ford Number is: E4AF-12A648-AA
This is probably rather difficult to source nowadays.
I asked a local motor factor to try to get me one and he got one from a company calles "Commercial Ignition" of Nuneton.
Their number for the item is: XEMS 71
It has the correct hot/cold impedence ramp (yup, I tested it, sad muppet!). Cold starting improved immediately.
I hope that you manage to get one. Remember, no PTFE tape because it needs a good earth to the manifold. I did apply a little Hylomar to prevent any possible leaks though!
Good Luck.Marlin Berlinetta 2.1 Efi
