Re: fit ford engine remove marina

I'm in the process of doing a 1800 B-Series to 1700 Crossflow swop, but it's been stalled for a year due to "other commitments". The basic swop is comparatively straightforward - new engine and gearbox mounts, etc. etc., - but the fun starts if you want to add anything fancier than the "standard" downdraught Weber that many Crossflows came with. I'm fitting twin 40DCOE Webers and the list of mods is far too lengthy for here! Good luck. Andrew.

      John

If you look at my conversion details on Jan 2007 and others from that date you may find other info. It is an easy conversion with a Type 9 gearbox if have some tools and worth the time and effort. Give me a shout if you want any advise.

          John.
I removed the hyd clutch system and used a cable. (get the extra adjustable long cable mk2 escort 1000mm out sleeve)you often see on ebay as a guy in Rugby sells them (Rally sport ?)
The clutch peddle top was modified by adding a 1 1/2 " so you can fit the inner cable end by using a clevis pin idea.
You will need to drill a hole in the bulk head inline with the clutch peddle for the cable. You will also need to make bush or sleeve type thing to fit on engine side of the bulk head for holding the cable and to stop outer cable pulling through bulk head and to take the adjusting slack.
Some guys use the Sierra type ratchet adaptor for the clutch peddle to hold the cable.
contact me on email with your phone number and I will give you a ring on robert.jacksonatsdf.co.uk.
