It must be summer as we have had several discussions about overheating, particularly on 1800cc B-series engines. Having a humble 1275cc A-series lump I do not suffer from this but I will pass on this piece of info. I had a rad leak (Viva rad) and having had it re-cored the car runs 8-10 degrees cooler. On a hot day test run I couldn't get more than 85 degrees up (90 standing) then the fan cut in. The repair bloke told me to use rain water to stop furring up, he said my old one was badly clogged. Also, I still have the option to fill the huge gap between the headertank and the cowl. Hope this helps.
