  • Fuel tanks for Marlins

If you are looking for a good source of fuel tanks then look no further than Marine fuel tanks! (not outboard tanks!) They come all many size and being made of plactic will not rust and take senders, return lines, remote fillers etc. Seach Ebay for some good deals I bought a 10 gallon tank new for £55 plus new fuel gauge and sender for £25.

Seems a great idea, but what about legality of a plastic tank ref SVA/IVA or whatever ?

Also I wonder if a plastic tank might be more susceptible to damage (or less crash worthy)than a metal one ....... playing devils advocate here but it's a good subject to thrash around !

Interesting - in fairness a lot of modern cars have plastic tanks but it is quite exposed on the Marlin - Would be interesting to know what make/model you bought and from what seller - Also some pictures of a description of how you mounted it might be interesting.

To quote section 03A of the IVA manual
        Plastic Fuel Tanks
        2. The vehicle must be accompanied by satisfactory evidence that the tank is designed for road use or the fuel tank is an original fitment to a mass produced vehicle, or has been previously and is un-modified.
