Mike, I had to rearrange my fuel system last year when I swapped from Weber to EFi. Short connections are made with fuel grade hos. Those in high vibration areas are armoured hose, and the main feed from rear to front, working at 3.5 Bar, is copper as supplied by Tifosi. All using stainless approved clamps etc. I would not admit to just throwing it together "in gay abandon" but a carefully planned project was brought to fruition!
I wuold certainly advise against solid pipe for the connection from chassis to engine !!!
