Hi Guys - Carbon fibre guards seem to ba an excellent mod.
There is a "but" !
If you new wings become damaged or smashed under the car take great care to avoid the fragments entering your lungs, eyes or skin. My history is the aviation world and the dangers of smashed up carbon fibre were beaten in to us for the very rare times that we may attend a crash site of a modern aircraft with carbon fibre within its structure.

i've just noticed the mudgaurd recall was alo posted by Patrick Short in the MOC thread below called Broken Wishbone-crash.

Have you guys checked and had our lower wishbones replaced or are yours Ford based cars which aren't affected?

Mine's a Ford based car and not affected by the wishbone issue. I got plenty of email warning about that but none about the stays.

I do need longer front mudguards though as the present ones are too short to be of any use. For me the draw back of the carbon fibre ones is that as my car is built as a 30s/40s vehicle carbon wings would just look wrong on it. I could I suppose always paint them over but that would be an expensive option.

I've heard that Mark Mathews has re-designed the mudgaurd stays for the BMW Sportster. Does anyone here have any more details or pictures?
