  • Brake servo Pinto engine car 1978 cortina

The brakes on my car feel like the servo is not operating. I noticed an ad. for a servo that said it could also be used for MGB or Mini Cooper or Cortina, (from memory).

The servo is sealed, looks like no fix is possible. Any advice on servos/brakes.
    Thanks John

    or on the net Pastparts.co.uk

John, I have and interesting few months sorting out the brakes on mine, couple of things I have learned - the master cylinder from a mk4/5 cortina fits a servo from a Mk3 and I assume the opposite is true, (mk4/5 bits are easier to get) however the peddle travel on the mk4/5 setup is longer so you may need to alter the push rod also the mk4/5 master cylinder has three brake pipes so that may need to be changed as well. As for using an MGB unit they are remote servos and not split circuit as I expect is the Mini unit.

feel free to drop me an email if you would like any more info.
