Ford Based Sportsters Front Suspension?

Does anyone know what donor car the front suspension mechanicals came from for the earlier Ford based Spotsters? - I hope the answer is Sierra/Granada.
I am building a Cabrio, but have always preferred the Sportster's front suspension set up, an am contemplating a conversion?

I am aware of a guy on the Souith Coast who has the only Cabrio/Sportster hybrid built. It is a Sierra based Cabrio back end with a Sportster front end - looks really good, just what I would have ordered if I had known it was possible.
He is not happy with the front end brakes (presumably Cortina - ref above?) and is planning to convert to Sierra components.
I'll have to wait to see how he gets on.

i came acros that very same car last year at a Classic Car show in Dorset. Must admit it took me completly by surprise.
