Oil Cooler Pipe Connections Rover V8 3.9i

I need to put an oil temperature sensor in the outlet hose from the oil filter housing to the remote oil cooler on the V8 3.9i (L/R Disco engine - Serpentine drive belt) in my Hunter. One pipe exits vertically downwards (which I suspect is the delivery side) and the other enters horizontally facing the offside (which I believe is the return)? Is this corrrect? There do not seem to be any flow direction arrows on the casting to confirm this.

    Hi Peter
Not quite what you are looking for, but certain RR/LR/Discovery's have an oil pressure gauge sender unit that also has a temperature sender.
They are more expensive than the straight pressure unit.

Hi Derek. That's an interesting one. Unfortunately I can't find anything listed anywhere. Do you have any further info on this part? Peter.
